X Journey Gymkhana

About the X Journey Gymkhana The Jornada X Gymkhana is a strategy for actively seeking out students and strengthening the emotional health of the entire school community. It makes use of a cultural tradition and the protagonism of the student group to engage everyone in carrying out the mission of attracting dropout students to return to school and stay there.

The Gymkhana was designed to be organized by young people from the age of 13, who are from the 7th year of Elementary School to the 3rd year of High School and carried out with the participation of the entire school community and its surroundings.

This journey lasts from 4 to 6 weeks in which 6 missions will be proposed for the mobilization and engagement of the school community. Throughout this period, the missions will serve as a guide to guide students and school staff, for the joint construction of the Gymkhana, bringing together the entire school community to cooperate in sports games, cultural, artistic, social and environmental activities.

In the end, it is intended that everyone involved contributes to increasing:

• The active search for dropout students;

• The joy of belonging to the school;

• Willingness to teach and learn collaboratively;

• The certainty that the school is also the place where the entire school community welcomes and coexists;

• Confidence in the power of youth mobilization and engagement.

The first @Jornadax Gymkhana experience took place at Cidade Hiroshima school in São Paulo. Preparation began in September and on October 8 the big day of mobilization took place, which included actions at the school with dance, music, sports, graffiti, knowledge games, community garden, cleanup campaign in Parque do Carmo and a lot more.

The hit "Poder do X", a LiveLab methodology, in partnership with Asas, who joined Fabio Brazza, Mc Caverinha and Pedro Lotto, arranger Ruria Duprat with 77 members of Sinfônica Heliópolis, Coral Heliópolis from Instituto Baccarelli and students from City of Hiroshima State School, where the first @jornadax. She has already mobilized students, schools and cities in favor of strengthening the emotional health and active search of young people who did not return to schools after social isolation.
